Sumitra M. Gautama

Sumitra M. Gautama, MA M Ed, has been a teacher at The School-KFI, Adyar, from 1988 to 2013, anchoring the Class XI Programme for many years. She was also the Coordinator of Outreach activities there from 2004 to 2012. Since 2018 till date, she has been Principal of Pathashaala a residential school run by the KFI at Vallipuram, TN. She is a certified Counsellor and has also worked at school level to sensitize adults and children in the Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse. She also has a Diploma in Journalism and Gandhian Thought, and a PG Diploma in Dance from Kalakshetra College of Fine Arts.

She has worked extensively with pedagogy for the TN Government from 2005 till 2019. At present she is engaged with strengthening the Senior School Programme of Autonomous Learning at Pathashaala, and the conceptualizing and execution of an Educational Resource Centre at Pathashaala as part of the School Outreach.
