Gayatri Vijaysimha

Gayatri Vijaysimha is an educator and researcher dedicated to sustainability and grassroots social change. As Academic Lead at Poorna Learning Centre, she teaches Psychology and Sociology while reimagining the social sciences curriculum to emphasize resilience, equity, and our relationship with nature. Her experience spans pioneering humanitarian aid delivery with the UN in the Middle East, leading research on resilient housing at IIT Roorkee, and helping establish Amnesty International India. A graduate of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and the Brown Institute for Advanced Research at Brown University, she champions people’s ingenuity in creating sustainable and inclusive futures. She is also an accomplished contemporary dancer and loves traveling to remote parts of the world.
